Explain the formation of N₂ molecules from N-atoms. 

Answer

N₂ molecule is formed from N atoms by the sharing of electrons between the two atoms. Each N atom has five valence electrons. Two N atoms share three electrons each to form a triple covalent bond. The electron dot structure of N₂ shows three pairs of shared electrons between the two N atoms.
