State in detail the causes of global warming.

Global warming is primarily caused by the increase in greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere, which trap heat and result in the warming of the planet.

The main contributors to this increase in greenhouse gases are:

  1. Burning Fossil Fuels: The combustion of coal, oil, and natural gas for energy production and transportation releases carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere.
  2. Deforestation: Cutting down forests reduces the Earth’s capacity to absorb CO2 through photosynthesis, while also releasing stored carbon when trees are burned or decay.
  3. Industrial Processes: Manufacturing processes, particularly in heavy industries like cement production, emit CO2 and other greenhouse gases as byproducts.
  4. Agriculture: Livestock farming, particularly cattle, produces methane (CH4), a potent greenhouse gas. Additionally, rice paddies and certain agricultural practices release methane and nitrous oxide (N2O), another potent greenhouse gas.
