The length of a rectangular area is 2 m more than its breadth and its area is 24 sqm. I construct a quadratic equation in one variable

Answer : 

Let the breadth of the rectangle = x m

the length of the rectangle = (x + 2) m

Area of rectangle = length x breadth

or, 24 = (x + 2)x

or, 24 = x² + 2x

or, x² + 2x – 24 = 0
