Many years ago, a hare was roaming merrily in a forest. A hound saw it from a distance and rushed at top speed to capture it. The hare had already seen the hound. It took to its heels to save itself from being killed. But the hound was getting nearer and nearer. Seeing that, the hare hid under a bush. The hound reached that spot and stood beside the bush. As for the hare, it had taken a good rest by now. So, leaving the bush, it ran to its burrow as fast as it could. The hound also gave it a hot chase once again. After a long chase, the hound overtook the hare just before it could enter its burrow. He licked the hare and at times bite it also. The hare was at a loss to understand why the hound was behaving this way. The hare said, “Should I call you a friend or an enemy? If you are a friend why do you bite me, but if you are an enemy, then why do you lick me ?” saying this the hare enter in its burrow and the hound kept looking, and couldn’t do anything. Moral : Never be double faced
