Mass (m) = 500 g or 0.5 kg

Acceleration (a) = 10 m s ^-2

we know,

Force (F) = mass (m) × acceleration (a)

= 0.5 × 10 = 5 N

Magnitude of force = 5 N

Now, 5 = 5 × a

⇒ a = 5/5 = 1

Hence, a = 1 m s ^-2
