(a) Role in the process of digestion:

(i) Enzyme Trypsin:

(ii) Enzyme Lipase:

• Lipase is also secreted by the pancreas.
• It helps in breaking down fats into fatty acids and glycerol.

(b) Two functions of finger-like projections (villi) in the small intestine:

1. Increase surface area for maximum absorption of digested food.
2. Contain blood capillaries to transport absorbed nutrients into the bloodstream efficiently.
