Calculate the molecular mass of the following: (a) H2CO3 (b) C2H5OH (c) MgSO4

(a) Molecular mass of H2CO3 = 2 x 1 + 1 x 12 + 3 x 16

= 2 + 12 + 48

                                                   = 62 u

(b) Molecular mass of C2H5OH = 2 x 12 + 5 x 1 + 1 x 16 + 1

= 24 + 5 + 16 + 1

                                                      = 46 u

(c) Molecular mass of MgSO4 = 1 x 24 + 1 x 32 + 4 x 16

= 24 + 32 + 64

                                                    = 120 u
