The main contributors to this increase in greenhouse gases are:

- Agriculture: Livestock farming, particularly cattle, produces methane (CH4), a potent greenhouse gas. Additionally, rice paddies and certain agricultural practices release methane and nitrous oxide (N2O), another potent greenhouse gas.
