Transition Elements: Elements in Groups 3 to 12 with valence electrons in the d orbital. They are metals with similar properties, positioned between strongly electropositive metals and less electropositive elements.
Inner Transition Elements: Elements in Group 3 of the 6th and 7th periods with valence electrons in the f orbital. These include Lanthanides and Actinides, each row containing 14 elements, placed at the bottom of the periodic table.
Noble Gases: Unreactive due to their complete octet and stable electronic configuration.
