(a) The two 15 Ω resistors are in series.

R1 = 15 + 15 = 30 Ω

This 30 Ω combination is in parallel with the 30 Ω resistor.

R = \frac{30\times30}{30+30} = 15 Ω

Including the internal resistance:

Rtotal = 15 + 2 = 17 Ω

I = \frac{3.4}{17} = 0.2 A

(b) V = E − Ir = 3.4 − (0.2 × 2) = 3.0 V
