Dear friend Rahul,
I take this opportunity to apologise to you for not having been able to see you yesterday. I had promised to come to you at 6.00 p.m and accompany you to Mr. Chetan Chauhan, our Science teacher in connection with the tuition of your sister. I am sorry for this lapse on my part. But I am confident you will excuse me when you learn that such conduct of mine was unavoidable.
As I was getting ready to leave the house, one of my friends came and told me that his father has got a heart attack and is serious. Since there was nobody else at his home at that time, I had to accompany him. We took his father to the nearby hospital and got him admitted. In hurry, I could not convey the message to you. I am sure you will not take this into your heart and pardon me for the same.
