Your sweet letter came this morning. I wish you could have seen how eagerly I tore it open and how many times I have read and re-read it during the day. I can hardly believe that all these sweet things you say are really meant for me.
Do you find it hard to be patient till that day comes? I do, terribly, life seems to be standing still, until we can start the great adventure of building up a life together. The flat I have here is pleasant enough. I told you before about the charming view from my balcony but it needs you here to make it really a home. My work in the city is interesting and rewarding, but I need you to work for to give it a real meaning.
Things are going well at the office. Coming here has meant a temporary separation from you but will, I think, bring nearer the day when we are in a position to marry. So you see, things are not standing still, and though the waiting may be tedious, it is all going to be worthwhile in the end.
