Exam-ready answer 02 Mark

Answer

Defect Cause
Myopia (Near-sightedness) This defect occurs when the eyeball becomes too long or the lens becomes too convex. As a result, light rays focus in front of the retina, causing distant objects to appear blurred.
Hyperopia (Far-sightedness) This defect occurs when the eyeball becomes too short or the lens is too flat. As a result, light rays focus behind the retina, making nearby objects appear blurred.
