Answer
Micropropagation is rapid vegetative multiplication using tissue culture technique.
It is performed in steps:
- Small living tissue sample (explant) taken from branch tip and sterilized.
- Placed on sterile nutrient agar medium with auxins/cytokinins in test tube.
- Forms callus/embryoids → plantlets regenerate.
- Plantlets hardened in soil under controlled environment. Used for orchids, gladiolus etc.
Telophase completes mitosis with nuclear reformation.
Daughter chromosomes reach poles and uncoil; nuclear envelope reforms around each; nucleolus reappears; cytokinesis begins by furrowing, forming two daughter cells.
