Answer

Role of Artificial Plant Hormones

  • Auxin: Promotes rooting in cuttings, controls fruit development, and prevents premature fruit drop.
  • Gibberellin: Helps in breaking seed dormancy, promotes fruit enlargement, and increases stem elongation.
  • Cytokinin: Stimulates cell division and is used in tissue culture to promote growth of shoots.
  • Ethylene: Used for artificial ripening of fruits such as bananas and mangoes.
  • Abscisic acid (ABA): Used to induce dormancy and prevent premature seed germination.

Influence of Insulin on Glucose

Insulin accelerates glucose absorption by increasing cell membrane permeability. It stimulates the conversion of glucose into glycogen in the liver and muscles, and also helps cells use glucose for energy production, thus reducing blood glucose levels.

Differences between Binocular and Monocular Vision

Aspect Binocular Vision Monocular Vision
Formation of Image Images formed on both retinas and fused by brain as a single 3D image Image formed on one retina, appears flat and single
Field of Vision Wider field of vision due to both eyes Narrow field of vision
Depth Accurate depth perception due to comparison of images from both eyes Weak depth perception, relies on size and shadow

Differences between Inborn and Acquired Reflex Actions

Aspect Inborn Reflex Action Acquired Reflex Action
Nature Present from birth (innate) Learned by practice or experience
Condition Does not require prior experience Requires prior experience or practice
Prior Experience Not essential Essential
Neural Pathway Simple reflex arc Complex neural pathway
