Let the capital investments of the two friends be C₁ and C₂.
Given, the profit ratio is 1/2 : 1/3.
So, \frac{C_1}{C_2} = \frac{\frac{1}{2}}{\frac{1}{3}}
= \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{3}{1}
= \frac{3}{2}
Thus, the ratio of their capitals is 3:2.
