Once a cruel wolf lived in a forest. That year,there was a severe drought all over the country. All the rivers and streams had dried. There were no grains or fruits growing anywhere. Many animals died due to hunger and thirst. The cruel wolf was very hungry. He had become very thin. One day he spotted a flock of sheep in the meadows. The shepherd had left them unattended. He had also left some buckets of water for them to drink. The wolf thought, ‘I’ll eat all the sheep and would drink all buckets of water as well.’ He said, “Friends, I am very ill. I cannot move at all. Can anyone of you give me some water to drink?” The sheep were cautious. One of them said, “Do you think we are fools? We won’t come to you to be your lunch.” Then, the sheep ran away and the cruel wolf’s plan failed.
