To prepare potato chips, you will need the following ingredients:
- Potatoes
- Oil (vegetable or peanut oil works well)
- Salt (optional)
Instructions:
- Peel and thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife.
- Rinse the potato slices under cold water to remove excess starch.
- Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully add a handful of potato slices to the hot oil and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Repeat with remaining potato slices.
- Sprinkle with salt (if desired) while the chips are still warm.
- Serve and enjoy!
Note:
- For better taste and more crispy chips, it is recommended to soak the slices for about 15-30 minutes in cold water before frying.
- Keep in mind to maintain the oil temperature during cooking process to prevent over or under-cooking.
