Question

Write Snell’s law of refraction of light.

OR

Write two characteristics of the image of an extended object formed when it is placed in between the optical centre and focus of a thin convex lens.

WBBSE Class X Physical Science Light – Reflection and Refraction 02 Mark 2023

Answer

Snell’s law : The ratio of the sine of the angle of incidence (i) to the sine of the angle of refraction (r) is a constant, for the light of a given colour and for the given pair of media.

Mathematical form: μ = sin i / sin r

OR

Characteristics of the Image

  • Upright (erect) and Virtual
  • Enlarged
