Subhash Chandra Bose, also known as Netaji, was a prominent leader of the Indian independence movement against British colonial rule. He was born on January 23, 1897, in Cuttack, Odisha, British India (now in Odisha, India).

Bose received his early education in India and then in England, where he studied at Cambridge University and passed the Indian Civil Service Examination, but he resigned from his position to join the Indian independence movement.

Bose was a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress, but he had a different approach and ideology than Mahatma Gandhi, he was more militant and believed in the use of force to achieve independence. He advocated for complete independence from British rule and the establishment of a socialist government in India.

In 1940, Bose left India and travelled to Germany, Japan and the Soviet Union, seeking support for the Indian independence movement. He formed the Indian National Army (INA) with the help of the Axis powers to fight against the British in India. Bose’s tactics and ideas were controversial within Congress, and he was eventually ousted from the party.

In August 1945, Bose died in an aeroplane crash, or allegedly in a plane crash, under mysterious circumstances. Some theories suggest that he might have survived the crash, but his death remains a topic of debate and speculation.
