Yatindra Nath Mukherjee was known for their brave deeds right from his childhood. He is among the forefront revolutionaries. He was born on 8th December 1879 at Nadia in Bengal. He passed his entrance examination in 1898 but in 1900, he gave up studies for the cause of revolution. ‘Anandmath’ inspired him to join the revolutionaries. He was jailed in 1910. He went underground to organize the revolutionaries. He played an important role in the Howrah conspiracy case. He pioneered the `armed revolution’ by reviving the revolutionary group Yugantardar. Kalighat was his center of operations. He was popularly referred to as “Tiger Yatin”. The British felt very much troubled by his activities and the British police had an uneasy time dealing with him. He was constantly locked in fierce encounters with them and did not give in during his lifetime. He attained Martyrdom on 9 December 1915 during an encounter with the police.
Yatindra Nath is an example of bravery and nationalism for the youth of the country, the likes of whom are a rarity. He will always be remembered with reverence.
