Swami Haridas, also known as Haridasa, was a 15th-century saint, poet, and musician of the Bhakti movement in India. He was a devotee of Lord Krishna and is considered one of the greatest saints of the Bhakti tradition. He is credited with popularizing the practice of singing the divine names of God, known as kirtan, and is regarded as the founder of the Haridasi or Haridasa tradition.
Swami Haridas was born in 1478 AD in a small village called Nathdwara, Rajasthan, India. He was initiated into the path of devotion at a young age and spent most of his life in devotion and service to Lord Krishna. He is said to have had a powerful spiritual experience at the age of 25, after which he renounced his family and worldly life to become a wandering ascetic.
Swami Haridas was also a renowned poet and musician, and is credited with composing thousands of devotional songs in the local language of Rajasthani. His poetry and songs, known as Haridasi Padas, are widely revered to this day and are considered some of the most beautiful and profound expressions of devotion to Lord Krishna.
He is considered as a true saint and his followers believe that He was a incarnation of Lord Narada and he had a great spiritual powers which he use to help other people.
